Artefacts

Evidence of female-focussed culture is everywhere. The pictures here show some of the evidence for matriliny from cultures around the World.

These objects are decorative ceremonial phalluses from West Africa, and may have been worn by women to indicate 'wrong sex'. The cross on the mouth of the left-hand figure would appear to be some form of injunction, possibly against co-operative communication, or possibly as a 'wrong species'  signal.
